I’m a bit under d weather tonight…visions cough and runner nose…it could be much worth with a soar throat and fever, but I got a 50/50 illness…annoying, but not too bad.
I’m sitting here with my faithful companion Murray, who is busy eyeing me and the keyboard, but has not decided as of yet to walk on top of it. GOOD Kitty!
l23;./a…there he goes, across my keyboard! Oh well…I have been thinking a lot about some fond memories I have about investing time at a local retreat center, and all of the paintings I created, and how I communed with God those special 6 days!! I was so into my silent retreat—except I believe music and informative tapes while I was painting—that I turned down invitations at meals to enter into quiet banter with others who were on retreat. It felt good to be silent, except for a 45 minute conversation each day with my retreat director, and for an evening chat with my then-wife Sandra! Those were some pretty pleasant times!
I’m alll cozied up in a sweat shirt and long sweat pants, trying to ward off any chills I feel, being that it is the dead of winter…yet my room temperature is at 74 degrees in my apartment. Quite warm! I guess I’m just a little more at the mercy of ANY chill in the air because of my cough and cold…I don’t really cough that much, but when I do, it’s a dousie!!
I truly enjoy collecting small rocks from the Lake Michigan lakefront. Some are just for looks, and some flat ones perfect for my hobby of gluing pithy quotations to the rocks and covering it with ModPage…I enjoy giving them as gifts to special loved ones. I have also, in past years, enjoyed creating greeting cards with wonderful quotes, penned by my own calligraphic style. Print and my watercolor backgrounds.
It seems a little odd that I am only taking about my past, and not my present activities. I tried Guitar lessons and knitting and failed tremendously at both. I think, in time, I will start plucking act my acoustic guitar again! I m challenged by how this blog has brought out some of my creative ventures that I haven’t even thought about for months, if not years. But maybe it’s time to take a good look at my forms of creative expression? The guitar and the greeting cards look most promising.
Well, I think I’m going to retreat to my bed soon because fatigue is another one of my symptoms, God bless and take care!!
Rich
